Mitesh Gandhi

An optometrist on the art of seeing, and being seen. I write and speak about reflection, presence and the quiet skill of making people feel valued, in the consulting room and in life.

What I explore

My work is about sight. My life has taught me that looking and seeing are not the same thing. Here is where the two meet.

Reflection

Introspection, meditation and yoga shape how I live and how I practise. I share honest reflections on confidence, presence, blind spots and finding clarity, drawn from my own story.

Being seen

Every patient wants two things: to see clearly, and to be seen. I talk to teams and audiences about presence, listening and how people feel in your care.

  • Talks for optical teams, LOCs and conferences
  • Workshops on patient experience and communication
  • Mentoring clinicians who want to connect more deeply

Clinical life

I'm an independent prescribing optometrist at Clamp Optometrists, Cambridge, with a special interest in dry eye, scleral lenses and anterior segment care. I share what practice teaches me, and help other practices develop dry eye services.

My story

Sometimes the path you didn't choose turns out to be the one you were made for.

A boy with a way with words, a father who said "science", and how the scientist and the storyteller found each other.
